A 16-year-old has been stabbed to death in west London in what has become one of the grimmest years on record for teen murders.

He is the 28th teen to die this year in the worst figure for more than a decade.

Police were called to Raleigh Road in Hounslow just after 9pm last night (Wednesday, November 24) after reports of a stabbing.

Paramedics attended but the youth was declared dead at the scene.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: “A murder investigation is under way following a fatal stabbing in Hounslow.

“Police were called to Raleigh Road at 21.07pm on Wednesday, 24 November to reports of a stabbing.

“Officers attended along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service (LAS).

“A male, believed aged 16, was found with stab wounds.

“Despite the efforts of emergency services, he died at the scene a short time later.

“His next of kin have been informed; formal identification awaits.

“Homicide detectives from Specialist Crime have been informed.

“There have been no arrests. Enquiries are ongoing.”
