Rico Andrews: Murder arrest over fatal shooting in Battersea

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was shot dead in south London.

Rico Andrews, 21, was found injured by police on Shuttleworth Road, Battersea on the evening of October. Despite the best efforts of emergency services he died at the scene.

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the chest.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday afternoon, October 26 in Wandsworth. He remains in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command who leads the investigation said:“While we have made an arrest in this investigation I must stress that we still need help from the public. I continue to appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw events unfold, or anyone who has captured this incident on phone or doorbell footage, to contact police immediately.”

Rico’s next of kin have been updated on this development and continue to be supported by specialist officers.
