Police raid east London drugs lab and seize “large quantity” of suspected class A

A 33-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs.

Met Police officers have seized a “large quantity” of suspected class A drugs during a raid on an east London lab.

Detectives raided an address in Cambridge Road, Ilford, at 5.32am yesterday (Thursday, May 26), following a warrant for the manufacture and importation of Class A drugs.

Specialist officers disbanded the fully functioning drugs lab.

A 33-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs.

More than 50 items were seized, including a large quantity of suspected drugs.

Both the man and the woman were taken into custody.

They have subsequently been bailed pending further enquiries.

Inspector Noori, from the East Area Command Unit, which covers Redbridge, said: “This was a fantastic effort by the Redbridge Safer Neighbourhoods teams who continue to work hard for our communities and ensure we deal with such matters robustly.

"If you are thinking of doing such things then think again, it is only a matter of time before my teams find you and bring you to justice.”
