Two men have been charged with murder after the fatal stabbing of a 21-year-old man near Regent’s Park.

Hamza Elchgar, 18, of St Elmo Road, Shepherds Bush and Christian Peterkin, 19, of no fixed abode, appeared in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

They were both charged with the murder of 21-year-old Omar Abdullah and the attempted murder of a 20-year-old man.

Both men were arrested on Wednesday at Heathrow Airport.

Emergency services including London’s air ambulance were called to reports of a stabbing in Lilestone Street, Westminster at 3.23pm on Monday November 28, where they found two men with injuries.

Abdullah was pronounced dead at the scene while a second man, aged 20, was taken to hospital with a stab wound. His treatment is ongoing.

The two men were remanded in custody to next appear at the Old Bailey on Monday December 12.
