Marylebone 'hit-and-run': Woman killed and another injured in Westminster

A woman died and another was left injured after an alleged hit-and-run in Marylebone.

Two men later reported to a police station, following the incident at about 10pm on Thursday (December 7).

The victims were struck by a car in Marylebone Road, junction with Allsop Place.

One of the women died at the scene despite treatment by paramedics. She is believed to have been in her 50s.

The second woman, understood to be in her 40s, was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

According to the Met, the car failed to stop at the scene and was found parked nearby. Two men – aged 29 and 38 – subsequently attended a police station and have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop. Both remain in custody.

Police say road closures remain in place at the scene.
