The body of a man has been found in the water at Tottenham Lock, near Hale Wharf.

Met Police officers were called at 9.35am yesterday (Thursday, August 18) to reports of a body in the water at Tottenham Lock, Haringey.

Officers, firefighters and paramedics attended the scene, where the body of a man was recovered from the water.

A crime scene has been established in the area, while inquiries are ongoing.

A Met spokesperson said: “At this time the man’s death is being treated as unexpected and the circumstances are under investigation.

“A post-mortem examination will take place in due course.”

It’s understood officers believe they know the identity of the man.

Enquiries are underway to notify next of kin.
