Man charged with murder of Emeli Sandé’s former boyfriend at Woodford Green Jubilee party

A man has been charged with murdering a rapper at a Jubilee party in Woodford Green, east London.

Lamar Jackson, 39, who performed under the name of Hypo, was stabbed several times in the early hours of Friday morning.

Paramedics rushed to the area and found the man suffering from stab wounds.

They tried to save the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jackson, was a grime artist, record label partner, and a former boyfriend of singer Emeli Sandé.

Laurie John-Phillip, also 32, from Enfield, has been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article.

He is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court later today.
