Loughton body: Further arrest after Tottenham man found dead in Essex woods

A man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnap and murder after Koray Alpergin was found dead in the Essex woodland two days after going missing.

The 43-year-old, from Tottenham, was found near Oakwood Hill Industrial Estate, Loughton, in Essex, on Saturday, October 15, by Essex Police, and declared dead at the scene.

A 33-year-old man, identified as H, was arrested by the Met Police on Saturday (December 17) and is in custody at a south London police station.

Officers said Mr Alpergin and a woman - who knew each other - had been reported missing from Ebony Crescent, Enfield, on October 14, and had not been seen since the night before.

The woman, aged 33, was found unharmed.

Several people had previously been charged with murder and kidnap, the Met said.

Erdogan Ulcay, 55, from Camden; Ali Kavak, 25, from Tottenham; Junior Kettle, 31, from Islington; and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear at the Old Bailey on January 6, 2023.

Two men, aged 29 and 34, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and bailed pending further enquiries.

While a 55-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released without further action, the force added.

Detectives from the Met’s specialist crime unit continue to support Mr Alpergin’s family.
