Leyton stabbing: Murder investigation after man stabbed to death in Waltham Forest

Police are appealing for witnesses in a murder investigation.

The Met Police has launched a murder investigation into a fatal stabbing in Waltham Forest.

The force says officers were called to reports of a “fight” at about 11.15pm on Thursday (April 18) to South Birkbeck Road, Leyton.

They found a man with stab injuries and, despite first aid provided alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, the man died at the scene.

He was believed to be in his 30s and the Met says his next of kin are yet to be informed.

A crime scene remains in place and a post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

One man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and was taken to an east London police station where he remains in custody.
