Knife crime: 16-year-old boy stabbed to death near Lewisham park

A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed to death near a park in Lewisham, south London.

Met Police officers were called at 4.06pm today (Wednesday, April 13) to reports of a “fight in progress” at a venue in Angus Street, near Fordham Park, Deptford.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service also attended and dispatched the air ambulance.

The boy was found with fatal stab injuries.

He was given first aid but was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have been made aware.

Detectives have launched an investigation and there have been no arrests so far.

A crime scene is in place at the scene and urgent enquiries are ongoing.

A Section 60 Order granting police additional stop and search powers has been authorised for the entirety of the borough of Lewisham.
