A bus driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene.

A bus driver has been arrested after a fatal collision in Hounslow

Met Police officers were called at 9.20pm on Saturday (January 21) by staff at a west London hospital after a man was admitted with serious injuries.

The 40-year-old died a short time after arrival and his next of kin have been informed.

Police say the man had been injured in an incident involving a bus in Cranford Lane, at the junction with Armytage Road, at around 7.20pm that evening.

The driver of the bus, a 59-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene. He was taken into custody and has since been released on bail.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit want to hear from anyone who might have been driving in the area and caught dash cam footage, or those who might have witnessed the incident.
