Hayes stabbing: Man in 50s dies from neck wound as 31-year-old taken in for suspected murder

Police attended the scene after receiving reports of a man “acting erratically with a knife” in Melina Close, Hayes.

A man in his 50s has died after being stabbed in the neck in west London.

A Met Police spokesperson said another man, aged 31, who was known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The force was called at 4.33am earlier today (July 11) to reports of a man “acting erratically with a knife” at a home in Melina Close, Hayes.

The victim was found in the property with a stab wound to the neck, and later died at the scene.

The arrested man was taken to hospital, where he will be assessed.

Det Insp Adam Guttridge, of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, is leading the investigation.

He said: “We are at the very early stages of our investigation and enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances.

“A man is in custody and no other persons are sought by my team at this time.

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family.”
