Hayes care home: Man charged with murder after death of 60-year-old resident

A post-mortem examination confirmed he died from compression to the neck, police said.

A man has been charged with murder after the death of a 60-year-old resident at a care home in west London.

Met Police officers were called to an adult residential facility, in Lansbury Drive, Hayes, Hillingdon, at around 11.50pm on Monday, January 2, to reports a man had been assaulted.

Paramedics also attended and a man, named as John Hallissey, died at the scene.

A post-mortem examination confirmed he died from compression to the neck, police said.

Rajinder Pall, 44, of Hayes was charged with murder today (Wednesday, January 4) and will appear in custody at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

Both the deceased and the man arrested were residents at the facility, described as supported residential accommodation.

Mr Hallissey’s next of kin are being supported by detectives from the Met’s specialist crime unit.
