Hackney assault: Police appeal for suspect after alleged knuckle duster attack

The victim of the assault was taken to hospital with a broken eyesocket.

Police have released footage of a man they are seeking to trace in connection with an unprovoked attack in east London.

Officers were called on Friday 11 November 2022 after a 27-year-old man was punched to the ground behind Regent’s court, Pownall Road in Hackney.

He and his friend had been walking on the Regent’s Row Walk Path when they were approached by a man unknown to them.

While punching him the perpetrator allegedly said "do you think you’re hard?" before leaving the scene.

The victim went to hospital for treatment to cuts to his face and a broken eye socket. Due to the severity of the injuries it is suspected the suspect may have used a knuckle duster.

Officers from the Central East Command Unit have conducted various enquiries and are now turning to the public for help identifying the man.
