Camilo Palacio: Four charged over Wood Green shooting of Enfield man

Two men from Haringey, one from Margate, and a 16-year-old boy face charges.

Four people have been charged over the fatal shooting of an Enfield man in Haringey.

Camilo Palacio, 23, was gunned down in Wood Green High Road on 24 July, and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police recently made eight arrests in relation to the shooting, and have now charged four people with offences.

Devonte Jackson, 27, of Elm Grove, Haringey, and a 16-year-old boy were charged on Tuesday with arson, assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.

Milan Kaleja, 30, of Godwin Cottages, Margate and Mohamed Ahmed Ali, 24, of Great Amwell Lane, Haringey, were charged on Wednesday with assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.

They are due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court.

Detectives have arrested a further three men – aged 18, 20 and 22 – who remain in custody.

Police also released updates on the people they arrested earlier in the week:

  • A 64-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of murder in Harlesden on Sunday, has been released under investigation.
  • A 25-year-old woman, arrested at the same time on suspicion of assisting an offender, has also been released.
  • An 18-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of murder at City Airport on Monday, has been bailed until late August.
  • A 17-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in Margate on Sunday has been released under investigation.
