Forest Gate stabbing: Teenager charged with murder of boy, 16, stabbed in the heart

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a teenager who was stabbed in the heart in east London.

Rahaan Ahmed Amin, 16, was found in West Ham Park, Forest Gate at 5.30pm on Sunday July 9 with a stab wound.

He was later transferred to an east London hospital, where he sadly died the following day.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with Rahaan’s murder and possession of an offensive weapon. He is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday, July 14.

Another 16-year-old and a 14-year-old boy arrested on July 10 on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Two other 16-year-old boys arrested at the scene have subsequently been released with no further action.

DCI Kelly Allen for Specialist Crime North said: "We know this incident will have caused a considerable amount of concern for local residents and I would like to reassure the public that we continue to work around the clock to establish the exact circumstances leading up to this tragic incident.

“I urge members of the public to help us with our enquiries by providing any images, footage or information they may have that could assist our investigation."
