Londoners have been ripped off for phones, cameras and gaming equipment via Facebook Marketplace.

Detectives investigating frauds which started on Facebook have released an image of a man they want to identify.

The Met Police is investigating 13 incidents where a man arranged to purchase items for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

Police say he met the sellers in person, but used a false driving licence and showed them fake evidence of a bank transfer. He walked away with the goods in his possession.

Items taken from victims at locations across London include mobile phones, cameras and gaming equipment.

The suspect has given a false address in the West Drayton area of Hillingdon and used the aliases Ben Hudson and Joshua Harris.

Met officers based in Camden and Islington have released an image of a man they which to speak to in connection with the offences.

Anyone who may know the man in the image or with information that could assist the investigation can call police on 101, quoting reference 5560/26APR.
