Edmonton murder: Second suspect arrested after woman, 58, found dead at home

The victim was discovered by emergency services after suffering from multiple injuries in a property in Edmonton, Enfield, on Monday.

A 61-year-old man has become the second suspect arrested over the murder of a 58-year-old woman found dead in a home.

And now a 61-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Paramedics and police rushed to the house at around 8.30pm and the body of the woman was found.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A post-mortem is due to take place in the next few days to try and work out the cause of death and murder cops are probing the circumstances of the killing, the Met said.

Ch Supt Simon Crick of the Met Police, responsible for local policing in Enfield and Haringey, said today: “I am deeply saddened by this tragic loss of life. My thoughts and condolences are with the victim’s family and friends.

“Extra officers will remain in the area over the coming days and I would urge anyone with information or concerns to speak to them or to contact us by calling 101.”

Neighbour Nasra, who did not wish to give her last name, told LondonWorld: “It makes me very sad to hear.

“She’s my neighbour, and even though I didn’t know her I feel that sympathy. She will rest her soul.”

While the mother-of-two said she had moved to the area two months ago, adding: “I’ve never seen any problems here.

“As soon as I moved in everything was okay. It’s nice.”

And neighbour Nick Costa, who has lived in Edmonton for 42 years, said: “I know all my neighbours.

“They are lovely people living around here - there are no problems.”

He added: “It used to be more families, and grown up kids. It’s changed a lot.

“I said to [the police] earlier ‘what’s going on?’ They don’t say a lot.”
