Croydon: 19-year-old woman stabbed to death after arriving in UK from India

A 19-year-old woman has been stabbed to death after only recently arriving in the UK from India.

Police were called to a home in Ash Tree Way, Croydon, at 4.10pm on Sunday (October 29) after receiving a report that a woman had died.

The woman was found suffering stab injuries and she was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.

A 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. He was taken to hospital with a minor head injury.

Met Police detectives say the man and woman were known to each other. At this stage, nobody else is sought in connection with the murder investigation.
