Brixton stabbing: Young man stabbed to death on Morrison Road as police issue Section 60

A young man in his early 20s was fatally stabbed in south London earlier today (September 4).

Detectives were called just after midday to Morrison Road in Brixton, next to Angell Town Park, to reports of a man being stabbed.

Officers, alongside the London Ambulance Service, found the victim with “serious” injuries. He sadly died at the scene.

A Met Police spokesperson said a crime scene remains in place, and that no arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.

A Section 60, enabling officers to search anyone in the area, has also been issued across Lambeth by Inspector Mkinsi. It will last until 4am tomorrow (September 5).

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.12pm today (4 September) to reports of a stabbing on Morrison Road, SW9.

“We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, a medic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and a clinical team manager. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“Our first medics arrived in around five minutes.

“Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a patient was pronounced dead at the scene.”
