Bermondsey: 16-year-old charged with Christmas Eve murder as victim named as Kacey Clarke by police

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of a woman on Christmas Eve.
The victim has been named as Kacey Clarke, who police say was known to the boy.

Hide AdPolice were called at 10.03am on Sunday, December 24 to reports of a 22-year-old woman with a stab injury at a home in Spenlow House in Jamaica Road, Bermondsey.
The Met Police, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended but were unable to save the victim, who died at the scene.
The 16-year-old boy was arrested nearby a short time later on suspicion of murder. He is due to appear in custody this morning (Thursday December 28) at Croydon Magistrates’ Court.
Police have named the victim as Kacey Clarke and say her family are aware and are being supported by officers. They have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.

Hide AdA post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a "single sharp force trauma to the chest".
Detectives from the Met's Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation.
