Camberwell: Man charged with arson after series of car fires

The Met said the fires took place on Kerfield Crescent, Grove Lane, Daneville Road, Camberwell Grove and Jephson Street.

A man has been charged with arson following a number of car fires in Camberwell, south-east London.

The Met Police said it was investigating five car fires that took place between December 24 and January 10.

Nerijus Butkys, 30, of Jephson Street, Camberwell was charged on Wednesday with four counts of arson.

He will appear in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court today (January 12).

In a statement the force said inquiries into whether the fires are linked were continuing.
