The 24-hour Beigel Shop at 155 Brick Lane, which dates back to 1855, suddenly closed in February leaving in mysterious circumstances.
At the time, the owners claimed the shop would only be closed for a “short period” while essential electrical maintenance was carried out.

Now the owners have announced the famous beigel shop will reopen again 24/7 seven days a week on Wednesday June 26.

In a post on social media the business wrote: “In recent times we’ve faced trials, including complex family dynamics and health setbacks, common in many extended family businesses.
“Our recent hiatus came as a culmination of a long-standing family dispute over the building’s ownership and subsequent rents, alongside the health struggles of our beloved father and uncle, Aron, who remains in recovery from a heart attack and multiple strokes.

The statement continued saying the business would be taken over by the younger generation including Aron’s 22-year-old quadruplets and the three children of his sister, Mazal.
The Beigel Shop said it would be launching a GoFundMe page with a target of £50,000 to help overcome financial hurdles, including doubled rent.
“We recognise the financial hurdles that lie ahead, from doubled rent to machinery upgrades and necessary renovations, including some electrical updates that added to our temporary closure,” said the statement.

“We are deeply grateful for your loyal presence through every twist and turn.”
