Apple: See inside iPhone maker’s six-storey Battersea Power Station shop

Apple has released new images showing off its plush south London store at the Battersea Power Station.

The American electronics giant opened Apple Battersea in the revamped building in June, its eighth in London and 40th in the UK.

The six-storey, 500,000 square feet-plus space has been designed around “collaboration, inclusivity, wellness and sustainability”, the company says.

“For more than four decades, Apple has been proud to be part of communities across the UK,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s chief executive.

“Whether it’s enriching the lives of our customers, helping support incredible developers, working closely with suppliers, or opening our stunning new U.K. headquarters, we are deeply committed to creating jobs and harnessing creativity throughout the country.”

In addition to its UK stores, Apple has corporate offices in St Albans and Swindon, as well as a new office in Cambridge, where it is working on technologies including artificial intelligence, machine learning and silicon.

The company adds that since it launched the App Store in 2008, UK developers have earned nearly £7.5 billion.

While its European headquarters are in Cork, Ireland, Apple employs nearly 8,000 people across the UK, with flagship stores including London’s Covent Garden and Regent Street spots.
