But it’s the city’s pubs that are among London’s most frightening haunted locations.

Gin and vodka aren’t the only spirits to frequent these London pubs which are said to be some of the most haunted in the country.

From ghoulish apparitions to moving bar stalls and creaking floorboards, these pubs have some pretty terrifying tales to tell.

1. The Ten Bells, Spitalfields

The Ten Bells is one of the most famous haunted pubs in London, with a history tied to the infamous Jack the Ripper. The pub is located near where some of Jack the Ripper’s victims were last seen, and it’s said that the spirits of these unfortunate women linger in the building.

2. The Spaniards Inn, Hampstead

Dating back to 1585, this historic pub has been linked to notorious highwayman Dick Turpin, who is said to haunt the inn. The pub's haunted reputation is enhanced by its old-world charm, creaking floors, and candle-lit atmosphere.

3. The Grenadier, Belgravia

This charming, hidden-away pub is reputed to be haunted by the ghost of a soldier who was beaten to death for cheating at cards. Patrons and staff have reported cold spots, strange footsteps, and mysterious knocking sounds.

4. The Viaduct Tavern, Farringdon

The Viaduct Tavern is built on the site of a former debtors' prison, and many believe the spirits of former inmates still haunt the pub. People have reported ghostly experiences in the upstairs area, where cells once held prisoners.
