Save £10 per person on summer steam train days out to make special memories

Sun, sea and sand are the perfect combination for a fun summer holiday day out. Now you can add to the excitement when you travel to the seaside by steam train and save £10pp with LondonWorld.com and The Railway Touring Company.
Choose from popular seaside resorts Bournemouth, Minehead and Weymouth, then book with The Railway Touring Company to depart from stations in and around London – and make 2024 a memorable summer reliving the golden age of the railways.
Seaside Minehead
‘The West Somerset Steam Express’ will depart from London Paddington, Slough and Reading, with a magnificent steam locomotive at its head, on Saturdays, July 20, August 10 and September 14. Sit back and enjoy the scenery as you travel by steam through picturesque rural countryside, along the Kennet & Avon Canal and catch sight of one of the famous Wiltshire White Horses.
This is your chance to travel with not one, but two historic steam locos in one day. ‘The West Somerset Steam Express’ will join the West Somerset Railway (WSR), the longest heritage railway in the country, and at Bishops Lydeard a WSR steam locomotive will take over.
Stopping at Minehead, you will have time to explore the delightful Bristol Channel seaside resort before steaming for home.

Bournemouth and Weymouth
For a steam journey to the south coast, with a choice of visiting either Bournemouth or Weymouth, take ‘The Dorset Coast Express’ from London Victoria, Staines or Woking on Wednesdays, July 24 and 31, or Thursday, August 15.
Bournemouth is renowned for its golden sandy beach, flower-filled parks and pine walks. However, if you stay on board, you will be treated to spectacular views of Poole Harbour and classic Dorset countryside enroute to Weymouth where there will be time to discover much of what this traditional seaside town has to offer.
The world-famous Settle & Carlisle Line
Other summer steam adventures include ‘The Cumbrian Mountain Express’, which will whisk you from London northwards to the dramatic Cumbrian Fells and then across the world famous Settle & Carlisle Line.
‘The Kentish Belle’ on August 7 will take you on a leisurely steam tour of Kent visiting Canterbury, Ramsgate, Broadstairs, Margate and Herne Bay.
Step on board ‘The Cotswold Venturer’ on August 24 for a steam journey to the fascinating historic city of Worcester dominated by its beautiful cathedral.
‘The Swanage Belle’ on September 11 offers another scenic day out with magnificent views of Corfe Castle and a stop at Swanage with its sandy beach, Victorian pier and the Durlston Country Park Nature Reserve, which provides stupendous views along the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
