Here's who owns the iconic London hotel Claridge's as BBC's The Mayfair Hotel Megabuild series returned to our screens this week.

The three-part series which originally aired last year documented the behind-the-scenes of the spot's basement and penthouse expansion over a six-year period.

The renovation, which started in 2015, wrapped up in 2021 and followed the five-story basement expansion along with the addition of four new floors above ground as well as a penthouse location.

While the series shared an insight into how the London hotel's mighty transformation took place, some viewers are also curious to know more about its owners.

Who owns Claridge's Hotel in London?

Claridge's is owned and managed by the Maybourne Hotel Group. The hotel operator also owns other luxury London residences, including The Connaught and The Berkeley.

The ownership of Claridge's previously made headlines in 2022 after it was reported two of the parent company's directors had been removed from its board.

At the time, the Financial Times cited former prime minister of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber al-Thani and former Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani as owners of the Maybourne Hotels, with Marc Socker and Gianluca Muzzi appointed as its co-chief executives.
