Love Island cast 2023: Shaq Muhammad - who is the London singleton, age, job and full line up

Love Island fans are counting down the days until the ninth season is back on our screens. The cast for the upcoming series has been revealed, with two contestants from London.

It was just a few months ago that Davide alongside his partner Ekin-Su was crowned the winner of the eighth season of Love Island. The two produced some memorable favourites and comfortably won the show ahead of Luca Bish and Gemma Owen.

A whole host of singletons are set to jet off to South Africa in pursuit of love. This is the second winter series of the show, after the first one in 2020 which  was won by Finn Tapp and Paige Turley.

London has always been well represented on the show and one  of the winners from the most recent Love Island series was from London. As well as that, Dani Dyer, winner of the 2018 series was also from the capital.

A new season will also see a new host. Maya Jama was confirmed to be the new host last year, taking over from Laura Whitmore who stepped down as host after almost three years.

Who is Love Island’s Shaq Muhammad 

Two contestants in the original line up for the upcoming season of Love Island are from London. One of those is 24-year-old Shaq  Muhammad who  is an airport security officer.

Shaq was asked why he decided to join Love Island, to which he replied: “I haven’t had the best luck with previous relationships. So I thought, why not be in the sun and potentially meet the love of my life?

“Hopefully I do come out with my future wife. The person I hope to marry one day. Hopefully she’s in the Villa.”

Shaq currently has just over 3,000 Instagram followers but  rarely posts on the social media platform, posting just five times in 2022. His most recent post from Decenver suggests he not long ago enjoyed a holiday in Canada, with multiple snaps of him at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

The primary reason for appearing on Love Island is to find love and when  asked why he is still single, Shaq said “I have dated, but no-one’s just clicked fully on all levels with me. I’m not one to rush into a relationship if I don’t feel like it’s right for me.

“I’m not saying you have to tick every single box, we just have to vibe and be on the same level. So, until I meet someone like that, I’m going to stay single.”
