Love Island cast 2023: Tanyel Revan - who is the London singleton, age, job and full line up

Ahead of the ninth series which is set to air in under a week, meet one of the Love Island contestants who hails from London

ITV has revealed the contestants set to take part in the ninth season of Love Island. London has good representation, with two in the original lineup hailing from the capital.

It’s been just mere months since Davide and Ekin Su - who is from London - were announced as the 2022 Love Island winners. They were firm fan favourites and won the show by a landslide.

This will be just the second winter series since the first in 2020, which was won by Finn Tapp and Paige Turley. A host of singleton’s are to head to South Africa searching for love, friendships and more.

With a new season also comes a new host, as Maya Jama is filling the void left by Laura Whitmore, who announced she was stepping down as host after three years. Coincidentally, the first winter series was Whitmore’s first as host.

London has fared well in recent years. One half of the 2018 winners, Dani Dyer, was born in Newham, East London. And, one of the winners from the most recent 2022 series, Ekin Su, is also from London.

Love Island contestants from London

As mentioned, two contestants in the original lineup are from London. One of them is Tanyel Revan. Revan is a 26-year-old hair stylist from North London.

When asked why she has decided to go on Love Island now, she said “I feel like the experience will be amazing! I do feel  like I am ready to meet someone and push myself out of my comfort zone to meet someone who’s not my typical ‘bad boy’ type.”

She currently boasts 16,600 followers on Instagram. She regularly posts pictures on trips away to luxurious locations such as Dubai. According to her Instagram timeline, she has been to Paris, Dubai, Istanbul and Amsterdam since October 2022.

Revan was asked why she is currently single, to which she said “I’m single because I’m so fussy. When it comes to dating, I’ve had bad experiences but also good experiences, which have moulded me into who I am today.”
