Good Morning Britain have unveiled several portraits of famous British personalities in an effort to raise awareness about loneliness in the run up to Christmas. London performers Sarah Gordy and Stephen Mangan join the likes of Ricky Gervias and AJ Odudu in the Portrait of Loneliness campaign that starts today (December 5 2022).

As part of Good Morning Britain’s annual 1 Million Minutes campaign, viewers of the ITV show have been invited to pledge their time to charities that tackle the issue of loneliness. Since launching in 2016, a staggering 423 million minutes of time have been donated to charities in need of volunteers who can connect with those who feel alone.

The black and white portraits featuring Craig David, Ricky Gervias, Joe Wicks and Sarah Gordy have also given the personalities a chance to discuss their feelings regarding loneliness and what they do to feel less lonely. Sarah Gordy explains that “When I work I exist but there are times when I feel I am always outside, looking in” while Stephan Mangan is quoted as saying “Everyone feels low at some point. You are never alone.”

The portable gallery is currently driving past some of London’s famous landmarks including Trafalgar Square and the Houses of Parliament, ahead of it moving onto the St Davids Centre, Cardiff on Tuesday 6th December, Botanical Gardens, Belfast on Wednesday 7th December and Glasgow City Centre on Thursday 8th December.

The tour will finish up on The Promenade, Blackpool on Friday 9th December when the Blackpool Tower will also be lit up in blue and orange - the colours of the 1 Million Minutes logo.
