It's the meal many of us put the most time into planning - so what makes a perfect Christmas dinner?

LondonWorld asked people in Crystal Palace what their dream Christmas dinner looks like, and the answers included a few surprises.

We also broached the delicate subject of Yorkshire puddings

"Quite traditional - roast turkey, roast potatoes, three or four veg," said Alan. "I don't usually have [Yorkshire puddings] with Christmas dinner, but I don't mind them."

Amuda said: "Oh, well my husband cooks it doesn't he - thank goodness! Well, we don't like turkey so we have a big chicken...

"A chocolate cake, ice cream - ice cream is my favourite. Maybe I might help this year - I might make the dessert. I might make a pavlova...plenty of alcohol."

Clive said: "Mine is more likely to be traditional Caribbean anyway. Which should be like the rice and peas, ackee and saltfish, but it will also be intermingled with the traditional bit of turkey, stuffing, Brussels sprouts and all the trimmings, so it's a crossover between Caribbean and traditional, basically."

Becca likes to keep it simple: "Pork, just pork."

And any veg on the sides as well? "I guess."

Simon said it will probably be a "classic turkey", adding: "But not too big a one so it's not dry, you know. So, Christmas turkey and the usual: trimmings, sprouts, parsnips...."

And do Yorkshire puddings belong in a Christmas dinner?

"Sure...anything you like. Anything goes. You can have goose, lamb, vegetarian. So, bring it in. Bring it on."

Bring on Christmas!
