M&S reveals reopening date for Brixton store following mega seven-month transformation

When you think of Brixton, you probably think of cool shops, colourful graffiti, the O2 academy - but what about M&S?

As part of the brand's multi-million pound London overhaul, M&S in Brixton Road has been closed for SEVEN months.

The store has undergone a major transformation, which includes a new bakery and click-and-collect point.

A first look inside the new store shows neon lights and hordes of fresh produce.

The new showstopping food hall will officially re-open at 9am on Wednesday 20th November.

Customers will find more M&S Food products available just in time for the festive season, including fresh produce from the retailer’s Select Farm partners, Christmas Sandwiches, and delicious bread and pastries from a transformed in-store bakery also offering hot drinks to takeaway.

The transformation is part of a £30m investment by M&S in its London stores announced earlier this year.

Since April, the retailer has opened two brand-new food halls in London, at Friern Barnet and Sidcup, as well as renewing its Chancery Lane, Teddington and Blackheath stores alongside Brixton Road.

Mark Aldridge, Store Manager at M&S Brixton, is celebrating his 20th year with the retailer and leads the store’s 100-strong team. He said of the reopening:“The team and I have been counting down the days until we can welcome our regular and new customers back to Brixton Road!

“We cannot wait to see customers’ reaction as the store looks completely different. The transformation means we can offer our customers the best possible shopping experience and the best of M&S Food. Whether doing a big shop, grabbing a Dine In deal or lunch, or looking for that touch of M&S magic, we have something for everyone!”

M&S Brixton is located at 446 Brixton Road., London, United Kingdom, SW9 8ED. The store will open at 9am on Wednesday however general opening hours are Monday – Saturday, 7am to 10pm and Sunday, 11am to 5pm.
