Chatsworth Bakehouse is the Glastonbury of sandwiches - and if you don’t have napkins, it can be just as messy.

Thursday was a big day - the day I am headed down to Chatsworth Bakehouse, one of hottest spots in the capital for foodies.

After setting up the sandwich shop over lockdown these guys have got queues going out the door and down the road for their filled focaccia snacks.

If you want a sandwich from Chatsworth Bakehouse, you have to order at 12.30pm on a Monday to pick up on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday - or chance your luck by walking in on a Saturday.

So popular are these sandwiches that sometimes the website can crash when people are ordering. It’s like the Glastonbury of sandwiches - and if you don’t have napkins on hand, it can be just as messy.

Today’s option was The Grocer, which is filled with turkey pastrami, pickled cucumber, onion relish, honey mustard and mayo.

And listen, sometimes you see a sandwich trend ton TikTok and think it won’t live up to they hype but, my word, it does.

I even nabbed myself a vegan option and a vegan brownie while I was there too.

I’m off for a nap.

Chatsworth Bakehouse can be found at 120a Anerley Road, Crystal Palace, SE19 2NA. Order online via its website.
