British Pie Awards 2024: London shop praised for its beef & vegetable offering

Highlighting the best of the best across the country, the 2024 British Pie Awards winners include one shop based in the west of the city.

This year's awards saw Kensal Green's Mēs Pies & Wine praised in particular for its Ox Cheek & Shin of Beef w/ Root Vegetables offering.

Having opened at the end of 2022, the neighbourhood-style spot soon built a reputation for its hand-crafted pies among its local community. 

As well as its Brent bricks-and-mortar site, pie-loving Londoners can also get Mēs' pies at Selfridges Food Hall seven days a week as well as Notting Hill Farmers Market on Saturdays and Victoria Park Market on Sundays.

Mēs is one of 25 shops across the country that have been highlighted for their artisanal creations in the 2024 British Pie Awards.

However, it's not the only capital shop to have won in the awards. Over the years a number of London pie shops have been praised in The British Pie Awards, which has been running since 2009.

Some of the other London spots to have been celebrated in recent years include the Wandsworth shop My Pie, which won multiple accolades for its offerings in 2021.
