To celebrate Valentine’s Day, a viral food item is making its return to the capital - and we’re equal parts intrigued and scared.

SIDES’ chocolate BBQ chicken wings are returning after fans fell in love at first bite in 2024.

SIDES will once again be serving up this sensationally sweet and savoury twist on their menu across all stores and on delivery from February 4.

Available alongside their burgers, tenders, wings, and bites, Chocolate Chicken pairs tender, juicy chicken with a rich, velvety chocolate BBQ sauce – a flavour combination that has fans hooked from the first bite.

But eager fans will be able to get their hands on this unique menu item for a limited time only.

Last year, SIDES Chocolate Chicken became an overnight sensation, after receiving millions of views across social media, featuring on Chris Moyles’ radio show, being praised by top food influencers like Food Review Club and receiving a taste test by TV legend Lorraine, who remarked, “Oh my god, so good”.

We can't work out if this will be the best or worst thing we've ever eatenplaceholder image

The unexpected combo quickly became one of the hottest food trends of the year, and now, SIDES is bringing it back just in time for Valentine’s Day and Easter – two of the most chocolate-filled celebrations of the year.

Phil Neale, Marketing Director of the Sidemen, said: “We were blown away by how much love SIDES Chocolate BBQ Chicken got last year. The balance of sweet and savoury pairs so well with SIDES’ range of top quality chicken, and the rich cocoa notes add a unique depth of flavour to every bite.

“It made so much sense to bring Chocolate Chicken back onto the menu again this year - it’s bold, it’s unexpected, and yet it works so well. If we see the same love for Chocolate BBQ that we saw last year, maybe it could become a permanent fixture on our menu…”
