Virgin Atlantic has opened applications to recruit 200 new cabin crew to take to the skies in the famous red-hot uniform and deliver the airline’s world-renowned customer service.

The roles, which will be for cabin crew flying from Heathrow Airport will be part of an initial six-month fixed-term contract with the view to extend, and this intake follows from a drive to recruit 400 new crew earlier in the year.

According to the airline, successful applicants will need to demonstrate a pioneering spirit, a desire to discover new places and cultures, a positive attitude and a passion for delivering thoughtful experiences to each customer.

Earlier this year Virgin Atlantic became the first airline in the UK to  change its policy by removing the need to wear make-up, allowing visible tattoos and the choice to wear the uniform that best represents their gender identity in a bid to be inclusive.

The job application states that the cabin crew basic salary starts at £18,525, plus trip pay, onboard commission, and other allowances once you start flying.
