In lessons, pupils’ “highly focused attitude towards learning” made an impression on inspectors, who noted the enthusiasm with which pupils approach all aspects of learning, especially their reading.

Inspectors identified the Academy’s expertly tailored curriculum as key to pupils’ success, noting that they put “great thought into making learning relevant and inspiring” and “instil high aspirations in pupils”. This allows all pupils to achieve highly and be “exceptionally well prepared” for the next stages of their education.
Beyond the curriculum, the Academy is praised for the way it “develops pupils’ cultural capital especially carefully” through “an array of enriching experiences”. Likewise, inspectors noted that the Academy provides “exceptional opportunities for pupils’ personal development” particularly through offering wide-ranging leadership roles to promote responsibility.
Reflecting on the report, Georgina Reynolds, Acting Head of Academy at Harris Primary Academy Coleraine Park, said: “I am so proud of our wonderful pupils and our fantastic team of staff whose hard work and dedication has translated into this exceptional report.
