Harris Clapham Sixth Form students earn places at top universities

Students and staff at Harris Clapham Sixth Form were celebrating this morning following the release of this year’s A Level results.

Over one third of all entries achieved A*-B grades (or equivalent) with almost a fifth (19%) achieving the top A* and A grades (or equivalent). 100% of vocational students passed their qualifications with a huge 70% achieving a Distinction or Distinction* grade.

The Academy’s exceptional results mean that students can now take up places at some of the country’s leading universities to study subjects such as Architecture, Psychology, Computer Science and Biochemistry.

Having only been in the UK for two years, Damilola Adinlewa is celebrating fantastic results today and is set to take up a place at Brunel University to study Medicine. Originally from Nigeria, Dami came to the UK with her family in search of better opportunities.

Dami said: “My father moved our family here to provide us with enhanced prospects and better opportunities. It really wasn’t easy at first and I struggled to get used to a new environment, a different culture and less predictable weather but my teachers at Harris Clapham Sixth Form have been incredibly helpful. They really helped me navigate the university application process and work out which universities to apply for.

“I am proud to be living a life that aligns with the values and aspirations my dad passed to me. He is so proud of me and I am very excited to be able to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor.”

Sarah Heuston, Head of School, said: “We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for these phenomenal results. The progress our students have made is a testament to their hard work, the support of their families, and the dedication of our teaching team. We are a Sixth Form academy in our fifth year and our results are improving year on year, even as we grow significantly in numbers.

“Following our Outstanding Ofsted in November 2024 and these exceptional results, we are a Sixth Form going to great places as we take our students on the journey from childhood to young adulthood, with the guidance of our values: courage, commitment and confidence. These outcomes will change lives and open doors to exciting futures in higher education, apprenticeships, and employment. Our students have won places at the best universities in the country on high tariff courses. We could not be prouder of them as they step out into the world to make their mark.”
