Streatham based supported living care service achieves accreditation
Thornton Avenue, Active Care Group’s supported living service for adults in Streatham, South West London, is delighted to announce its successful reaccreditation as a Headway Approved Provider.
This significant achievement highlights their continued commitment to delivering high-quality care and support to individuals aged 18 to 65 with a range of complex needs, including epilepsy, acquired brain injuries, learning disabilities, autism, Asperger’s syndrome, behavioural challenges and learning disabilities.
The Headway Approved Provider scheme offers a trusted symbol of excellence that helps individuals, their families, commissioners and stakeholders make informed choices about care services. The reaccreditation process, centred around the perspective of individuals and carers, focuses on evidence-based practice and outcome-driven approaches. Thornton Avenue was recognised for its strong and clear communicated culture, shaped by the Active Care Group behaviours, which are embedded across every aspect of service delivery.
The service was also praised for its well-established systems and processes. These ensure safe, effective care planning and delivery through clear clinical procedures that are familiar to staff, service users and families alike.

The reaccreditation is a reflection of the passion and dedication shown by the entire team. Service Manager Mark Sutton expressed his pride in the achievement, saying: “We are very proud to be a Headway accredited service. This enables us to work with Headway to support the individuals we care for with an ABI (Acquired Brain Injury). The staff at Thornton Avenue have worked hard to ensure the success of this accreditation. As the manager, I am proud of our colleagues and this achievement.”
