A funeral home in Manor Park, London is hosting a football competition to raise funds for Barnardo’s children’s charity.

Taking place on Sunday, July 14 from 10am to 3pm – ahead of the European Championship final – at Noak Hill Sports Complex in Romford, Co-op Funeralcare Manor Park is inviting the community to attend a five-a-side tournament.

The winners will be awarded trophies during a special ceremony and those opting not to show off their skills can enjoy plenty of refreshments and a raffle while watching the games from a viewing platform.

Christopher Saunders, Funeral Director at Manor Park Co-op Funeralcare, said: “We’d like to invite the local community to join us and raise funds for Barnardo’s. It promises to be a great day with plenty of friendly competition accompanied by good food, drink and music.

“As a member-owned business, Co-op is always keen to support important causes however we can. Following our charity partnership with Barnardo’s and mission to raise £5 million to support young people, it seemed natural to host our own fundraiser.

“Preparations are already underway and we can’t wait for a spectacular day of sport.”

Last year Co-op announced its new charity partnership with Barnardo’s, with the aim of raising £5 million to support 750,000 young people across the UK with their current and future needs, including helping young people and their families with basic needs like access to food, mental wellbeing support and opportunities for the future.
