The Tropical Andes is a breathtaking region of unparalleled ecological significance that supports some of the rarest and most spectacular birds on the planet. Stretching over 5,500 miles along the spine of South America across seven countries, it extends from Venezuela to Argentina, and from the Pacific coast to the jungles of the Amazon.

Birds of the Tropical Andes is focused specifically on the upper and central regions and presents a captivating photographic tour of the remarkable species that inhabit the lush alpine forests, high-altitude plateaus, and vast jungles of this diverse ecosystem.

The book’s attention to this specific zone highlights the unique adaptations of birds to be found there, many of which are nowhere else on Earth.
