As part of its 40th-anniversary celebrations, Muslim Aid is launching ‘The World We Want to See’ competition on 1st April 2025, inviting secondary school students (ages 11-16) to share their vision for the future through art and writing.

At a time when young people are grappling with uncertainty and mental health challenges, this competition empowers them to envision a future of hope, kindness, and positive change. The winning entries will be featured on Muslim Aid’s exclusive Eid cards, turning creativity into action to help raise vital funds for communities in need.

Recognising the increasing mental health struggles faced by young people in the UK, Muslim Aid is also launching free mental well-being workshops in secondary schools. In collaboration with Muslim Mind Collaborative, The Reflection Project, and the Association of Muslim Schools, these workshops will equip students and parents with tools to recognise early signs of stress and anxiety, build resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies.

Khalid Javid, CEO of Muslim Aid, commented, “As we mark 40 years of service, we want to ensure young people feel empowered to shape their own futures. ‘The World We Want to See’ gives them a platform to share their hopes and dreams, while our well-being workshops provide them with essential support to navigate today’s challenges with confidence.”

Winning participants will be announced at Eid on the Square on 8th June 2025, a vibrant celebration of London’s diverse Muslim community. The event will bring together people from all backgrounds to honour the spirit of unity and inclusivity. Eid on the Square provides the perfect stage to showcase young voices, and this competition gives them the opportunity to tell Muslim Aid the future they want to see—while we work together to help make it a reality.

Founded in 1985 by Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens), Muslim Aid has spent 40 years delivering life-saving humanitarian aid across 70+ countries. In 2023 alone, the charity ran 134 projects in 19 countries, investing £12.3 million to support 4.1 million people worldwide.

Now, as part of its 40th-anniversary initiatives, Muslim Aid is expanding its focus on UK-based projects, ensuring support reaches local communities and future generations.

Muslim Aid invites families, schools, and community members to participate in ‘The World We Want to See’ Competition and join the celebration at Eid on the Square in June.
