Middlesex Freemasons take proactive step in the fight against Prostate Cancer
Harrow, 4 July 2025 – A total of 191 Middlesex Freemasons attended a vital PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) testing session at the Harrow District Masonic Centre on Friday 4 July, as part of an ongoing initiative to raise awareness and enable early detection of prostate cancer.
This health-focused event was delivered in collaboration with CHAPS, a men’s health charity specialising in PSA testing and early diagnosis. It was generously supported by the Middlesex Province of Freemasons Charitable Trust, which funded the testing for participating members.
The importance of PSA testing cannot be overstated. Prostate cancer often develops silently, without symptoms, until it has reached an advanced stage. The PSA blood test can help identify individuals at risk, providing a crucial opportunity for early intervention. Those tested will receive their results within days. Depending on the results, individuals may be advised to either return in 12 months for monitoring or urgently contact their GP for further diagnostic tests and, if necessary, treatment.
Through the continued use of the CHAPS testing programme in Middlesex, several men have already been alerted to previously undiagnosed prostate issues. These cases are a clear demonstration of the life-saving impact of such initiatives.

Special thanks are extended to the CHAPS medical team and to the Middlesex Freemasons who supported the event on the day.
