London Runner Anju completes world’s six major marathons

London-based Tejmaya Regmi Sigdel (Anju) has successfully completed the six major marathons of the world, earning all six medals.

She fulfilled her lifelong dream of marathon running by completing the Tokyo Marathon on March 2.

Before Tokyo, she had already completed the Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York Marathons.

Anju said: “I am extremely happy. I have realised that dreams should be pursued because nothing is impossible.

“I am grateful to my husband and family for always encouraging me in my running journey.”

Since beginning her marathon journey in 2020, she has now completed 12 full marathons.

One of the most proud moments of her life, she says, was raising funds for Badi children in Surkhet, Nepal, while running the Everest Marathon. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this cause.

Anju is an active member of Nepal Run UK, a registered athlete under UK Athletics, and is actively involved in various philanthropic activities.

She expressed gratitude to Tokyo Marathon Legacy, a charity organisation that facilitated her participation in the Tokyo Marathon, as well as to all the donors who contributed funds for the charity.

Anju hopes to inspire more women to participate in marathons and raise awareness about the importance of physical exercise, such as running, for women’s health.
