Paternoster House Care Home in Waltham Abbey launches a monthly FREE to attend ‘Parent and Baby’ playgroup to nurture intergenerational play with their residents, and members of the local community. The first being hosted on Wednesday 11th June, 10am till 11.30am.

Parents and their little ones are invited to visit the home to enjoy music, games and activities tailored to provide a comfortable safe place to play. Bringing together individuals from different age groups helps enrich the lives of everyone involved.

Research shows that intergenerational play has amazing benefits for both our youngest and oldest community members, from boosting social skills in children, to enhancing the overall wellbeing of the older generation.

General Manager, Corina Popescu at Paternoster House said: “Our intergenerational Playgroup hopes to support parents with young children to connect with older people, with the aim of bringing together the young, and young at heart together – to build relationships through play.

We're especially proud to be able to provide a warm and safe welcoming space where parents can meet, chat and build friendships while their children explore and learn. These connections are what make our community so very special.”
