Students at Meridian High School in Croydon showed charity begins both at home and away, when they invited elderly members of the community to join them for Christmas lunch, white also raising money for Save the Children’s annual appeal.

The school took part in Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday, December 12 in aid of the charity, when they hoped to raise more than £100 for the cause.

“All year groups were invited to participate,” said teacher Georgina Watson, who organised the event at the school, which is part of the GLF Schools Multi-Academy Trust,
