At the opening event, the Mayor thanked Caremark Greenwich for its valued support in the community. He highlighted that the care profession is certainly not easy, as it involves caring for the most vulnerable people in Greenwich. He applauded the Caremark Greenwich team for all their hard work to launch services in the area and for providing this essential service, which is increasingly required in our current economic climate. After the official ribbon cutting, guests went inside to learn more about Caremark Greenwich’s services and have demonstrations of staff training and equipment in use.

Managing Director and Owner of Caremark Greenwich, Sukhvir Gill, is working with The Royal Borough of Greenwich Council and also forging connections with Greenwich Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), which oversees the hospital discharges in the area. Working with CCG Caremark Greenwich will assist with NHS referrals from hospitals, including Queen Elizabeth Hospital and local health centres. Sukhvir is already accepting referrals and private customers, as well as actively recruiting to bring on a team of dedicated care assistants who will support individuals across the town and the surrounding areas.

Sukhvir’s focus on hiring locally is just one aspect of his commitment to delivering top-quality home care services under this expansion. Creating multiple new jobs within the region, he is specifically looking for people who are invested in the community's wellbeing and providing the best possible care.

“I was born in Greenwich, I’ve studied in Greenwich, and I’m extremely proud to say I’m now creating jobs in Greenwich. Having lived here all my life, I have seen the demand for both home care services and employment increase exponentially. I knew I wanted to help my community and realised the vast number of Greenwich residents I could assist by opening a Caremark branch in the area. I was aware of Caremark’s accomplished history of providing personalised care tailored to each customer’s unique needs, as well as thorough training and fulfilling career options, and this is what really appealed.

“I’m thrilled that the Mayor and representatives from Woolwich Service Users Project (WSUP), South East London Mind, and EweMove joined us for our official opening event along with some of our customers. I’m deeply committed to collaborating with those who are dedicated to supporting our community, and this event provided a valuable opportunity to share our mission and discuss how we can work together towards our common goals.”

Continuing, Sukhvir discussed his next steps:

“With such high demand for care in the area, I’m now looking to hire further care assistants who embody the company's core values of reliability, hard work, compassion, and empathy. All staff members are fully trained and undergo mandatory and specialised training to provide customers with the highest level of care. Caremark is committed to helping their employees grow and succeed in their careers, offering various opportunities for professional development and providing a supportive network to assist with their advancement within the company.”

Caremark’s Joint CEO, David Glover, concluded:

“Caremark currently has 134 offices nationwide. Our 6,000+ care assistants now handle approximately 4,500 publicly funded customers and 2,500 private customers across the UK. The demand for home care assistance has increased dramatically in recent years. We are actively trying to be part of the solution to the care crisis, so we are delighted that Sukhvir has expanded the Caremark home care services into the region.

“We look forward to seeing the impact his team will have on the Greenwich area and its residents by enabling customers to live in their own homes and enhance their quality of life.”
