Braintree care home wins ‘Most Compliant Home Award’ at Essex Dental Clinic Awards 2024
The pilot was launched in June 2024, and it has led to fantastic benefits for residents
HC-One’s Larchwood Care Home, in Braintree, Essex, has been awarded with the ‘Most Compliant Home Award’ at the Essex Dental Clinic Awards 2024.
Larchwood Care Home were rewarded for their achievements after launching a pilot scheme with Essex Dental Clinic to offer dental provision to residents within the care home. The pilot was launched in June 2024, and it has led to fantastic benefits for residents.
All residents at Larchwood have received a dental hygiene check, and some residents have subsequently been provided with new dentures. This treatment has helped make it less distressing for residents living with dementia.
HC-One’s Larchwood Care Home Manager, Donna Owens, said: “We are proud to be awarded the ‘Most Compliant Home’ by Essex Dental Clinic. This comes after we commenced a pilot scheme with the dental practice to make dental provision available to residents within the home, as generally dental provision is poor across the sector.
“We were one of the homes fortunate to get onto the pilot and the benefits for residents have been fantastic. All residents have received a dental hygiene check, and some residents have been given new dentures which have been fitted – all of this has been completed at the home.”
The Essex Dental team continue to visit Larchwood Care Home and provide dental treatment to the residents.
