The housebuilder’s Kent division, which has its regional head office in Kings Hill, has made the contribution to Team Tutsham – a charity based on a farm just a few miles away in the village of West Farleigh, near Maidstone.
At the farm, the charity has access to an outdoor 60m x 40m surfaced arena, a classroom, and a lunge pen. The organisation offers jumping lessons and sessions for individuals and groups.

Team Tutsham is a member of the Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS) and has been awarded Five Star Riding School status by Maidstone Borough Council in recognition of the high standard of horse and pony care and riding facilities.
Maxine Buckby, the founder of Team Tutsham, said: “Stepping outside of their normal lives, the children we help have the opportunity to make friends with children from different backgrounds, learn to work as a team and, with our guidance, understand the importance of supporting each other for the overall benefit of the horses and other animals.
“We are incredibly grateful to Bellway for its generous donation to our little charity. This support will cover the cost of the ponies’ annual dental check-ups, which are important to ensure they stay happy and health all year round.

We would like to send a heartfelt thank you from us and from the ponies, who are always happy to show off their new smiles for a photo.”

Yasmin Graham, Sales Manager for Bellway Kent, said: “This amazing charity is based just a few miles from our head office and some of our staff were already aware of the fabulous work it does.
“Our philosophy at Bellway is not only to create new neighbourhoods but also to build meaningful relationships with local organisations which make a difference in the life of the local community. We reached out to make a £500 donation to Team Tutsham to help it carry on the excellent work they are doing day in, day out.
“The charity has told us that the children who engage with them have benefitted enormously in a number of ways by visiting the riding school. They have greater self-esteem and have become more independent and confident as individuals, as well as being able to work better as part of a team. As a bonus, the children spend a lot of their time outdoors at the farm and get to experience the wonderful Kent countryside when they go out for a ride.”
Bellway Kent is currently building new homes across East Sussex and Kent.
