Arsenal are already hard at work preparing for the new season as they look to go one better this time around.

The Gunners have already spent more than £200million this summer as they look to bridge the gap between themselves and Manchester City. Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber have already signed up for Mikel Arteta’s project, while there could yet be further incomings and departures at the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Arteta may want more

Arsenal boss Arteta has hinted there could yet be more signings ahead of the new season, though he does seem a little less bullish now that the club’s key targets have been wrapped up.

“Let’s see,” said the Spaniard. “It’s a lot of time still in the market and our expectations are in some of our players as well. So we have to see how things develop in the next couple of weeks.

“We will be alert, there’s still time to do things, there’s still time for exits obviously, so I’m sure things will move.”

Balogun’s agents working hard

Gunners forward Folarin Balogun is one player who is likely to be on his way out this summer.

Balogun is said to be attracting attention from around Europe, and Inter Milan are said to be one of the most interested clubs. According to 90min, Arsenal value Balogun at £50million, but the player’s agents are struggling to get interested clubs to pay that much.

It’s claimed the agents are working to get Arsenal to accept £40million, and that may be a fair compromise, especially if Arsenal do want to bring in the cash so that they can continue their spending this summer. Performance-related add-ons may also help clubs get a deal agreed for Balogun.
